New Horizons Sucks http://www.newhorizonssucks.net/

I recently googled "New Horizons Sucks".
Amazing, I found web site devoted to the horror stories of New Horizons!

You are not alone.

I think no one should be apologetic when you have a bad learning experience. We pay good money and should expect an equally good experience.

instead of spending thousands, you all can explore the possibility of forming online study groups, study on common book preferably certification books. and if there questions, just ask around and share the kn.

i only can help on oracle database administration but it is not popular in sg.

I just did several courses there n like to share my experience.

Mentor-learning:

First thoughts on it are I do not like it. Students are walking in and out of the room. It gets me distracted easily. 1 mentor for 30-40 students for all the IT courses. Unless he is a super guru in all fields, I personally feel he cannot help. Even he can help, can he do the same for 30-40 students? Extra-classes are no use. I do not like the sales keep pushing me to take mentor learning. He must be trying to hit his sales record as it is easier to put you in there and let u rot.

In the end, I took only class learing. For all the lessons, I keep having Fillipinos. Nothing again them but sad to say, is a place with FTs. They keep skim through all the modules like we are expected to know beforehand. Less and less people attend the classes and those inside are surfing internet too. Best thing is that they sure will be late for at least 2 hrs for 1 class for all the courses I took. Maybe that is the benefits given by the NH management.

I did pass the courses but on my own merits.

I never trust anyone to do citrep due to one experience at other centers. Thus, I cannot comment on NH service on this. Anyway, I believe the sales are only interested in YOU PAYING FOR THE COURSE. ANYTHING ELSE IS A BOUNS YOU MIGHT GET OR NOT.

I have just finished all the courses I need and move on to other centres. Is true that COMAT is a better place. Not because of the sales or prices but because of one trainer just join there. He is a local and true guru in Microsoft and security modules. He takes pain in teaching and unfortunately for his previous company, he has to leave. He is good and you maybe thinking why I never sign up at comat. There is no citrep given for the courses I want whereelse NH provides.

In general, is hard to find something really worth the price. If you like the prices and feel comfortable with the place, just sign it. Even Bill Gates teaches you personally, you might even do worse.

I've just completed PMP courseware at New Horizon.
Overall quite satisfied with the course instructor whom work partnership with NH.
Class ratio was 1 instructor to 14 students.

Prices i've compared and was offered aggressively priced against other from TP etc.
I'm waiting for PMI approval before i proceed to book for PMP exam.

Didnt know NH became so bad recently..I did my MCSE2003 with them back in 08 till 09..They initially had me place in ML which i dont really like(Did this for like 3 papers) until i decided to hoot them by email. Complain abit here and there until they decided to open classes even with 4 students.

Had 3 instructors thru out my last 4 papers and infact, all 3 of them are quite good IMO. At least they didnt rush thru the lesson thou. 1 was a ****, the other 2 was Singaporean. Rem 1 of the Singaporean instructor is a lady name Alice.

As for Citrep wise, didnt have any trouble with them either. Claim went thru smoothly after i filled up the form and furbish them with the necessary documents.

thanks.

The PMP instructor they partner with was good with relating to real working scenario when acting on the chapters.
He had sufficient experience from his past working experience to share on how PMP could relate.

Provided quite some materials which i find it useful along my revision for exam currently.

New Horizon Sux to the Max!

DONT EVER SIGN UP FOR NEW HORIZON CLASSES!!!!

I rather you spend your precious time and $ studying yourself.
Previously i made a deposit to NH, but end up didnt continue my class due to some urgent comitment, and requested on the next day to refund the $.
The coordinator mentioned that it is non-refundable, and persuaded me to take on other courses as substitution. But i refused, and insisted to take back the $, but she keep rejecting and mention that is their policy.

Few weeks later, i call up and enquire about other related courses but the price she mentioned is far way too expensive than the outside market rate as compared to Aventus, Combat and NTUC.

I was so displeased about it, and keep ask for discount, but as ususual, she did not responded to it.

There goes my $!
I will definetly going to report this to case to seek justification!

Hope everyone out there will benefit from self study than paying $ to institutions who are selfish and unwilling to contribute in helping student to grow in their studies.

So anyone has any bad experience with any training center? Especially New Horizons in recent months?

Thanks for the heads up, I almost signed with them.

Actually, for the price they offer, it does make sense to take up courses with them. They can really offer real low price. So you can't complain much.

My last understanding is, they can offer as low as $3000 for MCSA Windows Server 2012. This is a sure good price.

Hi all,

I was googling about the certifications on demand in SG and quite surprising to found this thread. I was offered the IDA ELITe scholarship to sponsor $6000 for my certifications course and exam. Very soon I was engaged by NH last week to attend a briefing on the package they provides. It all seems very attractive until I read the reviews on this thread.

The sales dept are clever to include perks like iPad and MacBook upon signing up their membership and packages. Apparently some of my fellow students brighten their eyes but it doesn't really matter to me. And hey Zakaria was the one gave us the first introduction about MCSA but somehow I had a feeling he's not as good as NH claim him to be. (skilled maybe, but not a good lecturer IMHO?)

I was looking for RHCE cert but NH does not offer Red Hat certification at the moment. Now I turn to Avantus it seems they offer more than NH has listed on their website. Appreciate previous replies and reviews on the thread, even though some of them are almost 3 years old. Hopefully I can make a better choice.
