Went to buy a hp from far east plaza and the staff told me it is a new phone, when I got home and on the phone I noticed so many starhub apps and even sg secure app. Can someone tell me why is there a sg secure app on a new phone? What should i do?l

It is preloaded with StarHub variant of the firmware. It's completely fine.

In fact, it's a good thing, because it is confirmed that you're using a local set.

You can always uninstall all those apps if you want to.

wow. I didn't know SG Secure app is pre-loaded nowadays..

I can't confirm if the app is part of the firmware variant, but i guess you can confirm with the manufacturer of the mobile phone bah..

I'm not a StarHub Mobile customer now, but I'm not surprised if they actually preload the SGSecure app alongside their StarHub apps (MyStarHub, StarHub GO, etc). Afterall, they're the first and only carrier to have location-based alerts.

Bulk purchase, the manufacturers sells at lower prices, then the retailers sells at slight markups only.

Carriers on another hand, follows the recommended RRP as sold directly by the phone manufacturers, unless you sign the 2 year handset contract agreement
