I just bought MSI GL62 6QD from challenger and the display look wierd. It have a yellowish tone and a bit pale. I asked the sale person there and he said it is normal. I tried messing with the intel graphics control panel, it solve the yellowish tone a bit but then the colours looks "fake", idk how to say. Is there any way to calibrate this or do i have to live with it? Please help guys

Since you just bought it, get a 1-1 exchange with Challenger if still within exchange period, or visit the service centre.

There should be 2 years warranty for GL62. If you replace the screen on your own, you risk voiding your two years.

as i said previously the salesman told me it was normal so i wasnt able to get an exchange.

maybe i am expecting too much as my previous laptop was calibrated professionally before i got my hands on it.

I checked the display before hand by changing the solid color background. At that time it look fine to me. I only found out the display look weird after I connected to Wi-Fi at home and I looked at youtube. I went back and ask but the sales person said it was normal and I look at the display and it look similar.

So I guess right now I'm trying to tweak the Intel graphics property a bit to find the best I can get. So far it still look weird lol.
Btw do any1 know any where I can get a color calibration service?

you could also follow step by step instructions
Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display\calibrate color

instead of using the intel one.

Or upload a picture of your previous monitor beside your current laptop. it could be you're too used to watching avatar and think that is normal.

I tried using the windows color calibration but it feels harder to use as I can only control the gamma and rbg.

I don't think its because I'm too used to my old laptop as I felt that my phone and tablet looks natural while the msi laptop look weird.
My previous laptop is from aftershock and the colors was calibrated before hand. So maybe I have too much expectation

When I was going out, I looked at some monitors and tv that are showing commercials the display look somewhat similar to the MSI laptop. Maybe its the new display tech that I'm not used to.

Any ways is there any color calibration service available near bukit pangjang? If not I might just sell off this laptop and just upgrade my old aftershock laptop.
