Already started selling for some weeks now on Apple website
I would like to buy MBA, but now some stores still have the higher end models of 2011. Is the 2012 really worth it?

I seriously doubt the i5 1.8ghz is up to that kinda tasks. But if you don't mind slower speed and renders, it shouldn't be too bad.hi guys im currently running some mid-heavy video/photo editing, 3d modelling & programming- processing which runs on java once in awhile... would you all recommend the Air? pulls off by the pro weight which is why.

The 2.0 i7 shouldn't be too shabby though.. But if you are going above 2k for such a configuration, might as well go for macbook pro. Unless you weight is a factor.
i do have a macbook pro 2010 version was thinking of the air because of the weight seem like a downgrade
Are you using a mbp >=15" 2010 with dedicated graphics? If no, mba 2012 will outperform mbp 2010 in almost all segment.
MacBook Air 2011 Benchmarks Show Huge Speed & Performance Gains
mba 2011 already outperforms 2010 mbp 17" so im quite sure 2012 does it better.
Hey thanks for the link am really so tempting to jump overhere my current 13 macbook pro system Processor- 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory -4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics-NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

May I know what you're gonna use ur laptop for that you wanna jump over?
I am currently using 15" mid 2009 MBP and wanna jump to Air for the portability. But other than those, I can't find any other good reasons to jump to MBA.
My 3 years MBP is still alive and kicking despite everyday 24/7 usage. And it still runs quite snappy despite using 3yrs old of technology. Best of all...it's on Snow Leopard![]()
Currently a student in Lasalle studying Interactive Art. Basically use it sometimes for 3d rendering, video, photo editing and running processing programming. Well the number one reason is weight and portability plus screen?? and is ssd really that fast? .
rendering its best to use MBP.
MBA is more for business use, word processing and light adobe work.
SSD is really fast. my MBP mid 2010 series. C2D with 4GB ram, boots to MacOS within 15sec.
launch MS office outlook, word within 1sec.
if you aren't convinced, go youtube or go ask any of your friends holding a MBA and boot up.
Actually Mba 2011/2012 can do decent work. CPU performance isn't that bad too.
Here's mine.
Mba 2012 13"
MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012) - Geekbench Browser
Mbp 2009 13"
MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009) - Geekbench Browser
If mbp 2009 can do rendering/video/Development, i don't see why mba 2012 can't.
thanks for the update.. when the next computer fair? lol
I also thinking of hooting a MBA 11'
So you guys recommend to hoot from Apple online store or go to any local retail store like Challenger/Epicentre to hoot?
Actually i would recommend you to get 8GB Ram tho.. and i think upgrade options are only available via their online store (maybe some retailers will do it for you, not too sure)
Tks for the update btw bro any idea how does the edu thingy work I keep click can't seem to find the link or rebates
