not so sure though.. for me, even surfing hwz forum can cause it to happen. but then, I'm open for any solution, if it isn't that troublesome. lol

Not sure about your case.. Since you tried disabling sleep, you can also try disabling hybrid shutdown/boot and switch back to a normal cold boot (like with windows 7 and earlier).

Can google how to disable that. Will probably not help, but no harm trying and easily reversible. But the idea is it reloads all OS files than relying on a hibernation file for the most.

ts/sledgehammer1985 and neonboy88 = freezing permanently
sacredrays = just freeze for a few seconds, imo quite different issue...

hmmm.. so switching out the faulty hdd solved it? maybe i should do the same to mine. I have 1 wd green with a lot bad sectors, but lazy to change it... :s13::s13:
hav u tried disconnect wd green to test if the short freezes still occur?

clone to new hdd liao.. still occuring.

i realized its chrome problem. caused by memory leak (e.g. hwz forum tab can eat like 200-300mb ram per tab), and then total cpu usage shoot up to 100% when freeze... total ram used still decent though.

searched online a lot people also suffering from this. anyone with solutions?

Change SATA Cables

Are you using a few years old SATA cable on your boot hdd? Try changing that to see it helps. Or, swap around the SATA cables among your HDDs.

you all try ba..leave your hwz forum tab long period, or keep refreshing and don't close it, see will happen not. so far, the one that occurs most is when surfing the forum.

usually my habit is to open chrome when my comp is on, and leave the tabs all open until I off comp, almost whole day.

Got try other browser? I face no such short freezes while leaving browser on for long time be it firefox or chrome. Using firefox 32bit and chrome 64bit.

hmm.. tried edge like ok.. but i want use chrome leh.. :s13::s13:

anyway, how many tabs you opened, i realized the highest chance to make it occur is when i right click open links (e.g. forum threads) in new tab while continuing to scroll the current one.

I had a similar issue after buying the Samsung EVO 850. Reinstalled Windows and it went away though. Do you have Intel raid and Samsung magician installed? You may want to uninstall them and see if it works. Cos after I reinstall I haven't install them yet and I suspect it's the culprit
