Just wanted to know if i was the only suay one who always kena problems one form or another when building new pc. I have built one pc and helped my 2 friends choose their build and setup in their house so far and all 3 times i faced problems.

Feel free to share your problems of fixes if you guys know of any (if not i feel damn stupid for even starting this thread):spin::spin::spin:

1st pc (mine)

Had problems with audio

- plugging in and removing of my earphone jack causes spotify or youtube to stop playing totally even though it is playing (i hope it makes sense ~.~) it is like a permanent mute and only way to resolve is to close the application and open it again.

Problem with game crashing
- Occasionally when i am playing league and i press ctrl tab my whole pc will freeze (spotify still plays in the background) and i usually just press the power reset button to shut it down and on it again since it does not take long (sweet sweet ssd boot)

Problem with internet
- Using ethernet (wired) but still it disconnects and reconnects intermediately which really is annoying considering i am playing league when this happens.

(Solution) Fix for this would be to set the speed and duplex to 100Mbps full duplex and it stops disconnecting. Heard it has something to do with the ports disagreeing and stuff and thats what caused the disconnects.

2nd pc (friend)

If i could remember correctly my friend's pc had the same internet problem as mine so i could solve it pretty easily. Havent heard any complains since then so i assume everything is cool and dainty.

3rd pc (friend)

Had a weird internet problem whereby the download speed would be normal at the start of a download and just drop all the way down to 100 of kbs per second. It happened both when downloading league and downloading steam games. Have not found a solution yet but since my friend says its fine i just left it as it is.

This problem still bugs me till this day as i essentially built him a pc with problems. I failed him.........

Not exactly a problem, but this is due to current gen computers auto detecting whether you have something connected and enables/disables the onboard sound audio device. Program continues to play on other audio device available, usually a HDMI audio, or USB anything. When you re-plug back the cable, the program will not switch back. Restarting the program makes the program re-choose the audio device based on the priority set in Windows.

Solution is to disable all other unused audio devices in Control Panel -> Sound

Sounds like software issue. What does ctrl tab do in league?

My Dell monitor had this weird problem. It will off and no matter what I do, I can't get turn it back on. Turns out I installed some fan controlling software and this is the side effect. Totally unrelated but no problem ever since I uninstalled it.

A pair of usb ports on my casing, the left one always get recognised as usb 1.0 or something, **** load transfer speed and can't get my plug in headphones to work with that left port.

Heng Fortran assembled for me. No problem...

Except my casing front panel audio jack was still AC'97. Always got no sound when headphone or speaker was connected to front panel, and there was pop-ups dialog boxes when nothing was connected. So after some research and experimentation, had to go to Realtek Audio Manager to uncheck "Enable front panel audio jack detection".

hmmm woes ah....

my first DIY no problem...

when I overhaul ran into problems... there will be this black screen with cursor for 5 mins before windows finally boots (even with SSD), turns out is the problem of GeForce experience which I uninstalled. Later I installed a newer version with no problems.

In my honest opinion, I'll always pay the 30 bux service fee from Fuwell to just build my PC and load in the OS. This way if the parts are spoilt, they will just fix it somehow (i dont want to know how).

When I try installing/troubleshooting stuff myself, **** always happens. Like completely random stuff (to me) but it's probably nothing noteworthy here.

For example, this one time when I reinstalled windows, all my drivers (except the CD ROM) were gone and I couldn't even use the internet to find those drivers for download (no ethernet driver). Luckily I still had my MB CD which contained the drivers I needed etc.

Using dell monitor with speakers conneced via hdmi
Installed drivers and whatsoever, speakers works then stops working after computer goes to sleep.
Checked settings and it shows default speaker is dell via hdmi but actually is through motherboard audio output.
Solution:never put to sleep

My current build with Xonar DX. Whenever I click restart the PC the sound card would be undetected. I will need to shut down and power on again for the card to be detected again. Lucky I seldom restart...

Ctrl tab doesn't do anything leh. Cable also change once already before, had to do the speed duplex thing before it got stable.

Will try the audio fix later XD

Nice to see that other people also have some funky problems hahaha. I always tot was just my luck cus i asked my other friend who does custom pc and he says that everything always works hahaha.

my MSI r9 390 cannot install by the normal way using win 7. It keeps freezing.

End up need to go to the device manager and manually add the driver.

Luckily, this issue seems not longer there after I refresh my os to win 10.
