Hi, thinking of replacing my old desktop that is currently running intel I5 760 with a gtx 970. I will be keeping the gtx 970 and replacing the rest. Looking at a budget to mid range built with a budget of around $700. Any suggestions on the components will be greatly appreciated. No external peripherals eg monitor, keyboard, speakers required.

Actually if your system is still working fine, why would you want to upgrade it? just curious..

i have a feeling that the 970 is being bottleneck by the CPU. Also I think my hdd is going kaput

Oh damn, that's a cheap ram! 2x4gb ddr4 2400mhz ram kit starts at $150 now

samsung 850 evo ssd 256 or 512gb
i use amazon.com when i buying parts.

the rest parts shld be able to reuse. Ram not sure.

u can use ur hdd as 2nd hdd.

Depends if TS able to wait for b360 board to be released instead of going for the z board.

First gen board definitely uses different ram than the 8th gen board.. another point to consider since ddr4 rams is still pretty high.

Another option to consider if you’re working within a Budget could be going for a second hand 3rd/4th gen mobo/cpu combo and getting ddr3 rams. It’s more price friendly that way. There are even some AMD FX chips that are really good for its price point

Oh and do change your PSU. Don’t reuse an old one._.

If increase the budget to around 1K without graphics card, monitor, keyboard etc
What setup should I be looking at?
Looking at including an m.2 ssd in the setup
