Hi, in the market for a 34" 2k ultrawide right now.

Just wondering, would you guys go for a brand new x340 pro, or a used Predator x34? Pricing is around the same.

I used an IPS panel previously and i liked it. Being swayed towards the X34 due to the IPS panel and also the 1800R curvature.

The 1500R seems too curved?

Thanks for looking!

X34 user here. If you use geforce card, maybe x34 is a good choice. Also I feel the curvature of x34 too mild, feels almost flat.

Still using the same monitor after 4 years

Are you talking about x34P or x34A? I think even a used x34P is around $800+.

Depends on your needs, Im using a x34P now and it works great for ultrawide, especially with Gsync.

I don't think Prism+ has that many great reviews either. I personally would go with a Gigabyte 34" ultrawide. But depends on your GPU because you need top line specs just to max out the refresh rate.

If you are thinking of Prism x340 pro, i'd rather suggest Xiaomi 34", cheaper and is a decent panel as well. Both VA panel though, so you have to decide if you really want IPS or not.

Yup, talking about the X34A/X34.

Found a couple of them around the $400-$500 mark thats why i was tempted.

I really don't game that much though, virtually zero gaming. An ultrawide mainly to suit my multitasking needs, i deal a lot with spreadsheets etc.

Will take a look at the Gigabyte range as well!

Thanks! Was looking at the Xiaomi as well, only downside is that it doesnt have HDR. While i don't game, i watch a ton of movies though, so not too sure if the HDR makes a huge difference.

Diff league of monitor........

Prism+ is only free-sync compatible, not g-sync. Had checked with their online agent a few weeks ago.

If you are using NVIDIA cards, I will go for the Predator.

Definitely a different league of monitors. I've personally had a predator X34 and "downgraded" to a xiaomi ultrawide. Reason I had to do that was because my x34 was stuck at 60Hz no matter what I did.

Still. I will always miss the vibrancy of the x34's IPS panel compared to VA. Though I brought the x34 to my office as my workstation monitor :)

Since you watch a lot of movies, get an IPS screen

Yup aware that only freesync compatible. Some people have reported success using G-Sync though but i'm not hoping for that hahaa

Thanks for your input! First hand experience of x34 vs xiaomi... How is your xiaomi so far?

Apart from obviously the IPS panel being more vibrant

hey guys - i'm currently using a EVGA 750ti, I went to check online and it supports 4096x2160 with 1x DVI 1x HDMI 1x DisplayPort (went to read online and it's HDMI 1.4, DP1.2).

i am keen to get the xiaomi ultrawide 34". im a complete newb at this, but i was wondering, would i be able to achieve 3440 x 1440p @ 144hz using DisplayPort 1.2? i guess HDMI 1.4 is not possible. I'm not sure if i need to change my gfx to support this monitor.
i read online that DP 1.2 supports 2560 x 1440p 144hz, however i also read a bro here who has gtx 970, but purchased a veniton DP 1.4 cable and managed to output 144hz.

for context, i don't game and my purpose is just multi-tasking and watching videos/movies.

thanks all!
