:s13::s13::s13:

Thinking of building a new rig with the upcoming non-ref 290x
Monitor will be a korean 1440p monitor (is 280x enough power for ultra settings in bf4?)
or should buy 1080p AOC 27" and play with 280x...? :(

CPU - 4670
MOBO - MSI b85-g43 gaming
Ram - 16gb? ( rec me something red maybe? )
SSD - ??? (m5p maybe?)
HDD - 2TB (which brand affordable? Hitachi/seagate?)
PSU - Not sure how much? Probably 550W if it's enough or 650W? FSP plat?
Case - Still thinking... Maybe carbide 540
ODD - any black one $25

I'm not sure of the price of all this add together...
GPU probably $850?
Budget around 2k burst abit? :s22:

Pro help leh lai :s13:

2k i think I did found a good combo for 2k in dual GPU. But not a single 290x.

Anyway about 2k able to fit dual 280x.

MSI b85m g43 + i5-4570 ~ $356
Gskills ripjaws red 1600mhz 2x4gb ~ $110
WD blue 1tb ~ $80
Plextor m5p 128gb ~ $159
Gigabyte r9 28XOC 3gb x 2 ~ $890 (tradepac bundle price)
Superflower 750w golden king 80+ platinum ~ $175
Corsair Carbide 540 ~ $150 (best buy)
Samsung odd ~ $21
Dell s2340L 23 inch monitor ~ $219

Total $2159

Not unless you don't want xfire. Then a single 290x is at $818 then probably you save $60+ and probably a 600w PSU will be fine.

:D Going to hoot maybe today
Final conformation
MSI b85m g43 + i5-4570 ~ $356
Gskills ripjaws red 1600mhz 2x8gb ~ $110
WD blue 1tb ~ $80
Plextor m5p 128gb ~ $159
Gigabyte r9 28XOC 3gb ~ $445
Superflower 750w golden king 80+ platinum ~ $175
Corsair Carbide 540 ~ $150 (Tradepac got sell?)
Samsung odd ~ $21

Can rec me a 2tb HDD?
Gonna xfire 280x if unhappy with fps on 1440p monitor, so 750 plat is enough with some additional headroom? Ram upgrading to 16gb also, doing slight vid editting and multitasking most of the time, can someone help me confirm if good to go? Aftermarket cooler for cpu can extend lifespan???
:s13::s13::s13:

MSI b85m g43 + i5-4570 ~ $356
Gskills ripjaws red 1600mhz 4x4gb ~ $220 (???? 4x4 or 2x8?)
WD blue 1tb ~ $80 (2tb HDD? Hitachi/seagate/toshiba can make it?)
Plextor m5p 128gb ~ $159
Gigabyte r9 28XOC 3gb ~ $450
Superflower 750w golden king 80+ platinum ~ $175 (Enough to xfire 280x with this config and maybe a lil headroom to oc the gpu)
Corsair Carbide 540 ~ $150 (Tradepac got sell?)
Samsung odd ~ $21

For x-fire, just make sure your case have at least 5 pci expansion slots....

Must check. Cause I calculated step by step my total max tdp for gtx760 sli is 508w including all fans and other stuffs.

But the thing is gyx760 tdp is just 170w. Unlike yours r9 280x there are people saying max tdp is 250w. That will be extra 160w more compared to mine lol. That will probably bring up to 668w. That will give you about 90% load on a 750w PSU. But that is just max load.

Best is you find a 850w PSU.

Ok thanks! I think i will just go with 750w plat. Did a quick search, people say that 750 is a minimum and Im not gonna oc cpu or what so should draw less power overall for the system :o

Is there a 850W psu you would rec thou? I realise all the PSU super expensive when above 700W LOL
