Hi guys, my current rig has decided to kick the bucket after 5 years. Been out of touch with hardware developments for many years, so I'm hoping for some advice.

Looking to build a rig that's mainly for gaming and can run the latest games like Fallout 4/Witcher 3 on ultra settings. Things I do not need as I can salvage them from my current rig:

1) Monitor
2) DVD drive
3) Secondary HDD
4) Keyboard & mouse

Things I do need:

1) CPU
2) Mobo
3) Ram
4) Gfx card (that can run a dual monitor setup)
5) SSD hdd
6) PSU
7) Casing (either mid-tower or smaller)
8) OS and Microsoft Office
9) Any other components I might have missed out

Hoping to keep budget within $1.5-2k! Some other questions I have:

1) Do shops in SLS offer services to setup your rig including installation of OS?
2) What do u guys do with old rigs/components? Sell/dispose?

Many thanks in advance!

all prices non bracketed are from pcthemes. do ask around for price quotes and discount before purchase. the shops in sls do have assembly services, but may charge you if you aren't buying a full set. usually $20. for the old items, you can either sell them or keep for just in case

Thanks for the recommendation! Is a GTX 980 overkill though? I heard a 970 should be more than enough to run the latest games at max settings. Was thinking of getting 16gb ram and a 500gb SSD hdd with the money saved...

the 970 would be able to run the games maxed out, but if you're playing games using both monitors, will be more taxing for the gpu, so i decided to recommend 980ti.though i think i may have went a little overkill... can drop to a 390x if you prefer to save the money and go for something else. 16gb of ram isn't really needed now, just get 8gb and you're good to go.

Thanks for the recommendation! Is a 600W PSU enough for this setup? Also, would I need to get additional cooling?
