I am looking for my next rig for OC, gaming, photos editing and these are the planned specifications.

i7 4770K with Asus Maximus VI Hero;
G Skill Rip Jaw 2133 CL9 16GB;
Corsair AX750W;
Corsair H80i

2 considerations;
1) Asus GTX670 DC II 2GB SLI or single Asus GTX770 DC II OC 2GB?
Will the 2 GTX670 outperform the single GTX770?
IF I choose the GTX770, what will be the suitable PSU?

2) CM690 Advanced III or Fractal Design R4 ?
Any thoughts on these 2 casing in the areas of cooling efficiency and dust filter?

I will re-use my 27" with 2560 X 1440 monitor and SSD.

Advice appreciated.

If you really wanna SLI, you should look at the 760 instead. 2 of those beats a single 780/titan and more future proof. plus it comes with newer tech; gpu boost 2.0.

If want SLI, don't get old card unless you can hoot dam cheap clearance/2nd hand.
I prefer single card for stability but if fps count is all you care then SLI by all means.

Oh and try to get at least 3GB of VRAM since your setup is 1440P, cause your vram will probably be bottlenecked if you're going anything higher than a 770.

PSU, just google the required wattage for the card and get a solid certified PSU that meet the required recommendation. Of course, getting higher wattage to future-proof your rig is always welcomed(IMO). I think 770 requires min 600+w and SLI 670 requires min 750+w.

770 SLI need 700-800w...

1 monitor, 1 gpu.

SLI/x-fire means consumption of more power n produce more heat.

U need to consider your airflow n cooling system if u r getting > 1 card

How about 2 monitors with 2560 x 1080 each with ultra setting on game? will a single 770 or 780 able to handle it?

You would probably need a single 770 with 4gb vram.

Or

A 760 with dual SLI.

770 is 4gb is about $66X

760 $400 each x 2 = $800

Imo if you can afford 2x 760 might as well buy 780 lol

Thanks all for the replies.

Likely, I will get the 770 first and another 1 down the road for SLI setup.
