Thanks for your patience and enlightenment. I would love the choice of being able to do SLI in the future should the need arises. Always nice to have that option.
What are the chances?
If your day 0 with a rig that has no 2 gpus, and within a few months you do not SLI, then you are most likely not going to SLI.
Its always the case when people always say that they might wanna SLI in future. But in reality as days pass, high likely you wont want to do it.
Cause every year there will be a new card coming out. You will come to the day whereby, adding another card may only reach the highest end card of Nvidia or AMD cards. Whereby it is better for you to buy that 1 card will do.
Some scenario. A 2 gtx980 is the current performance of a single 1080.
So ask yourself, is it worth paying more for something that you think you "might" need in the future? Do you see yourself adding another card probably before the next gen worth of cards are coming out soon. Is it something you may need? And not forgetting you take in more power, and lastly dealing with multi card setup issues when gaming.
If you still think it is fine...
I leave the option open up for you.
