New SSD with Disk usage 100% after cloning

Hi bros! Recently hoot the crucial SSD from 12/12 Lazada sales but seem to be having some issues. I clone my 120gb intel SSD C: drive with 3 partitions over and used partition wizard to extend the volume of my boot partition after booting up with new SSD. It was ok for like 10-15mins then everything became unresponsive. Opened task manager, see disk usuge at 100% Did those solutions I found online but like no diff. Isit the Crucial SSD problem or I shouldn't extend the volume of my boot partition? Would appreciate some help, thank you!

if ur disk usage 100%, check ur process and sort by disk and see what is using it.

I did that but everything was at 0% leh. The old SSD doesn't have this issue though.

Yes nothing is running but the active rate is 100%. Very fustrating

Are you using bukit timah os? Where using windows launcher? Cause i know that program can cause your disk usage to go 100%.

Tried all those in the website liao, still same after boot up for 5mins. Active time shoot up to 100% even when nothing is running. Should I clone again and this time round creating a new volume from the unallocated partition instead of extending my boot partition?

No leh. Previously was original win 7 then upgrade to win 10 now. Sometimes after 30mins then it happen, sometimes happen as fast as 5 mins after boot up. I also don't know what's going on.

Alternatively, you can install fresh OS onto your SSD and see what happens.

That will be the last thing I want to do. I just realised setting the power options to high performance made it hit 100% much faster, like 5mins after boot up. Changed it back to balanced mode and turned off the idle disk power option somehow make it survived for 1 hour and still monitoring now.

Did the exact same thing as you. Disks tends to hang etc. End up fed up, just reinstall everything manually.

Hmm so I have to use my win7 cd to install again on the new SSD and upgrade to win10 from there?

It is always best to fresh install OS than to clone over.

I assume resetting the PC from win10 settings is the same as reinstalling the OS?

I think you can use W7 key to activate your Win10.

Make sure you get the latest ISO though.

Not sure why but it kept stuck at restarting, unable to get into the reinstalling OS screen. Guess I'm only left with formatting that new SSD and do a fresh OS install.

might be your file system corruption.

Yep seems like we can do that. Will download the win10 ISO from microsoft website to my USB and do a fresh install on that new SSD to see how it goes.
