I watched so many 射雕. This version one the Huang Rong like not as clever as the previous version. Looks like the script writer didn't consider all these things.

Lu Wushuang is not the descendant of Lu Guanying and Cheng Yaojia. She's the daughter of Lu Zhanyuan, Li Mochou's former lover in ROCH.

The translation is not exactly accurate, but close enough. A little bit of hanyu pinyin is required.

This LOCH edition follows quite close to the novel, but not exact. The cooking scene of HR trying to entice H7G is more accurate in Ariel's 2008 LOCH version.

Half half? The part where HR enticed H7G to eat and teach GJ.. ariel's version is more accurate, including the dialogue lines. But that 2008 version also added some scenes that are modified, such as YK not accidentally poisoned to death by HR. In 2008 LOCH, YK was separately killed by OYF, while WYHL was killed by YK himself. In this LOCH, the fighting scene at the Jin palace is more accurate. e.g. HR fighting with the guy carrying 3 cups of wine each, etc.

GJ supposed to be big and burly in appearance.. Hu Ge's appearance more accurate. Hu Ge is more natural compared to YXW.

HR is supposed to be exceptionally beautiful, smooth/fair complexion with a tinge of playful elegance.. every guy who saw her as mentioned in the novel would be amazed by her beauty and elegance.. LYT more chio than ariel.. but she is remarkably civilized and refined in this version. Ariel is more fiery chillipadi in the 2008 version.. more cute and bubbly but can be real vicious. So the more accurate version is LYT's looks and elegance + ariel's bubbliness, viciousness...

This 2017 version really fail. I give 3/10

2008 is like so much better. The casts, the acting skills of the casts. The plot. The CGI, the background music. Dialogues. Everything from 2008 version win this 2017 one.

If you all like 2017 version one. Should go watch 2008 one. 10x better.

To be honest 2008 acting and way of directing is more loyal to orignal novel

Whether its epic or not may not be faithful to the novel. That's the issue.

Should the production team edit and change the Jin Yong's story line to spice up the show?

I don't think there is any tv adaptations that is really 100% the same as novel.

So far this 2017 version is closer for slight majority of the plot but there are some plots in 2008 LOCH that are more accurate.

A simple example..

"Repentance of the haughty dragon" 抗龙有悔。。 the part where GJ and HR met H7G and how HR tried to entice him with food to teach GJ.

I just scrolled through the translated work in the URL to check because I was kinda lost why this episode of this chance encounter between GJ, HR and H7G in the 2017 version was so different to 2008. The most interesting part of LOCH is always the banter between HR and H7G that's why I noted the difference straight away after watching this 2017 version.
