Can elaborate more on simi wrong depiction?

Everything about her acting as HR is wrong.

The way she is supposed to look, to dress, to behave, to fight, to speak, etc. Even the way which HR struck opponent's acupoints are described in the novel as extremely exquisite which emphasizes her gracefulness.

HR is supposed to be as chio and elegant as XLN, but more intelligent, crafty, charming... then you try to fit ariel into that image.

Ariel's depiction is quite crude and uncouth, very plain looking, no air of elegance, annoying. Came more as a foul-mouth ranting ah lian.

But the supporting cast in the 2008 version is solid though.

Yang Mi did a darn good job in the series... Thoroughly impressed by her portrayal of the "different" characters.

Compared the styles of the 2 from the posters before, liu yifei's style looks more sultry befitting the temptress of her clan, while yang mi's style looks more refined and ethereal befitting her status as god. Both are good!

Someone should start a thread, or is it too late since the series is over.

Starting of Epi 46 洪七公 supposed to called both 郭靖 and 黃蓉 to 一人各他老人家捶一條腿 。

The 八月十五 fight supposed to be at past midnight. And 歐陽鋒 triggered the fight.

Then a huge fog came by and cloud everyone vision. But not by a horse. Then 歐陽鋒 summoned 蛇陣 and trapped everyone , that they retreated to the top of 醉仙樓。 之後就驅使兵以弓箭如雨下。

周伯通 ran and stay at the top of 醉仙樓。 they fought their way thru to the back alley. And not under a tunnel.

柯老妖怪，kenna arrow on his leg. 黃蓉 gotten two soldier to ferry him, and help bandaged him.

Agree. Quite a bit of deviation from the novel for these 2 episodes. Huang Yaoshi did not lose to the quanzhen disciples and Guo Jing in the novel. Here it was shown that he lost. Qiu Qianren was also supposed to appear. He didn't. Not correct.

Agree. Quite a bit of deviation from the novel for these 2 episodes. Huang Yaoshi did not lose to the quanzhen disciples and Guo Jing in the novel. Here it was shown that he lost. Qiu Qianren was also supposed to appear. He didn't. Not correct.

Instead it highlighted what happened in the 醉仙樓 where they hoohaa about 武穆遺書。。

HYS was playing with the 7 QZ priests cuz he wanna study the north dipper formation. He didn't struggle or lose as depicted in the novel. He isn't east heretic for nothing.

And HR was supposed to capture two Jin soldiers and tortured them to carry the blind old man. And the two soldiers bio her washing her face and feet and kena whacked badly for that. The novel stated that it was due to mist and not OYK's poisonous gas that created the confusion.

There were many differences, like.. HQG supposed to call both HR and GJ to massage his legs and the two had very weird and uncomfortable expressions, etc. Kinda surprising that YK got into the fight cuz he was really useless in the novel.

胡歌 just don't cut IT for 郭靖， the 憨厚愚鈍 really come across as 造作， but what makes me switch off completely from the show is AL castinh of 黃蓉， first she lack the what 金庸 depict 黃蓉 to be, first in decorum (首次以女裝登場時，書中描述「黃蓉長髮披肩，全身白衣，頭束金帶，白雪一映更是燦然生光，猶如仙女一般，肌膚勝雪，容貌嬌美無匹，容色絕麗，豔如春花，麗若朝霞)

黃蓉曾唱過一首辛棄疾的《瑞鶴仙》，據推測用以形容黃蓉之美。

節錄瑞鶴仙前段：「雁霜寒透幕。正護月雲輕，嫩冰猶薄。溪奩照梳掠，想含香弄粉，豔妝難學。玉肌瘦弱。更重重、龍綃襯著，倚東風，一笑嫣然，轉盼萬花羞落。」

林依晨 just dont cut it, her decorum just dont befit, next will be her portrayal of 黃蓉 character, she just dont come across as a learned woman from a learned background.

Sje appeared boorish with some of her small action and micro expression. She lacks the 閉月羞花之貌 和 沉魚落雁之美， 少了懷春羞澀之情， 卻充斥傲慢專橫無理之儀。

Except 翁美玲 (有時也屬過於刁蠻， 朱茵 and 周迅will be more rounded， 李一桐 befits in the looks dept, and her verson will be 可圈可點， 剛好到位。

Prior to this version 射雕英雄傳 ，my list of choice actress for the role of 黃蓉 in such a order 翁美玲， 周迅， 朱茵。

But after this 射雕英雄傳 2017 the choice list change and updated as 李一桐， 翁美玲， 周迅， 朱茵。

Those who read the novel will know. Most ppl thought HR appearance is to look cute regardless of looks but in fact, Jin Yong has described HR as exceptionally beautiful with smooth fair complexion, long shiny black hair to the waist, delicate, elegant and graceful with a tinge of girlish giggle, playfulness and a superb captivating smile. Almost all men who first saw HR were captivated by her, including her adversaries. She is well learned, talented, refined and cultured. Her martial arts moves were described to be extremely graceful and the actress must have some dancing background to portray that.

I simply cannot see that in Ariel's HR. I thought she was a nasty spitfire chilli-padi who kept cursing and swearing.

The only two bad points i will point out is that LYT's portrayal lack the 灵气 and the "meanness". HR could be really mean at times especially when jealous or when she didn't see something 顺眼. I rate LYT near to Barbara's portrayal. LYT actually bothered to read the novel to get an understanding of the real HR, and didn't watch how previous actresses acted.

As for GJ, Felix wang's portrayal is still unbeatable. That blank, dull, silly but honest expression is so memorable. Not even julian comes close.

The scenery and the chiobu actresses are the plus points to this drama. Thumbs up!
