Hi all,

Thinking of travelling to Thailand in July or August, and this is my first trip. I’ve done layovers in Bangkok when I travel elsewhere but never actually been in the country. Can you guys give me some recommendations?

Some things if it helps:
1. 4Adults
2. More interest in history & food
3. Must do things in Bangkok

Actually if you check tripadvisor for things to do, there are 100 of them. Just short list your interest then ask for more infor. Example, day 1 go where, or day 1 is it too pack.

Depending how many days you going but to be frank july-oct if want to sightsee might be quite troublesome since is moonsoon season. Ayutthaya is good for history. Makan wise if not afraid of lao sai, try streetfood. So much better then those claim best in Thailand restaurant and price much more affordable

Airport transfer:
Best to get a bigger car (for example: toyota innova)
Price is about 700b one way, inclusive of toll charges
If you get from airport taxi counter, by meter, might be higher than that.
Friends tried before few times, always ended up paying more than 700b
Few drivers on tripAdvisor, you can contact them to book them ...
Normal taxi, some of their boot can only put 1x 28" luggage
Normal taxi usually is about 400b+ to pratunam area ...

Interest:
Shopping malls, temples, pasar malam, etc
You can do a google search or read up other threads here.

Sim Card:
You can buy iShopChangi, changiRecommends, qoo10
Sometimes they have promotions, about $5
If buy at airport is 299b

Meals Discount:
You can book at eatigo app. There are hotels buffets, restaurants, etc
Discount up to 50%
