New to IT, need advice!

basically new to IT, past diploma is engineering one, but all along got interest in IT field.

current job is got deal a bit in IT one (got abit networking, troubleshoot).

was thinking about getting compTIA A+ after reading some threads here but is it can self study then take exam or must take together one package?

also exam format is practical/theory or both?

also thinking to take degree in uniSIM for information and communication technology, got any other degree recommended anot?

comptia a+ can self study. After you complete comptia a+ you may want to consider MTA networking fundamentals. This will teach you the fundamentals to prepare for certifications like CCNA and MCSA.

if youre keen to learn, LithanHall academy offers CCNA/MCSA/MCSE/PMP/ITIL course which is a Diploma programme. Its 9 months, but you can actually handpick which course you want instead of taking the whole programme. Can work your way to relevant certifications and with this give you a overall idea on how things works. Best thing is you can use your PSEA account. For someone who is keen to kickstart, i feel this is a good program, cause I am currently attending. If you got any further details you wanna ask feel free to contact me! If you just want to get into IT thinking certification is the way to go, you are most probably barking up the wrong tree.

If you intention is to enjoy the industry and the deliverables, then knowledge is what you should be pursuing.

I agree that skillset is the way to go, but I also believe need some certs to safeguard and make things look nicer.
