New Video Editing Rig for 2019

Hi all,

Planning to buy a PC this new year as my Dell XPS 15 9550 can't keep up with 4K files anymore. I do video editing with Premiere Pro CC 2019 on a daily basis in an aircon room. I'm on a pretty tight budget of $1200-ish. Don't need any peripherals. Only need OS. I don't really game so I'm thinking a 1060 would suffice for now. So far I have come up with the following. I guess I also need an air cooler for the 1700x, any recommendations? Let me know what you all think, thanks!

I believe Adobe runs faster on Intel.

Also, I would recommend you get an AData M.2 nVME or Samsung 960 Evo M.2 instead of the SATA bottlenecked drives.

Personally I gave up on Adobe premiere as davinci resolve is not only as capable but renders almost in half the time.

Yeah, I may move to resolve soon as I've been learning how to grade on it.

Do you use Temporal Noise Reduction a lot? Then Intel has a leg up. If no, get AMD, Davinci uses the threads well and AMD uses less power / generates less heat.

For basic functions, how does Da Vinci compare with Premiere? Comparable? Does it degrade video output quality?

I gave up on Premiere as well. Love resolve. Premiere was just getting too expensive with monthly costs as I used it for 2 years.I used the 1080p free version for a while then upgraded to the full 4k studio version now. 429 SGD for the full license and I am happy.

26 dollars a month for 2 years I paid more than 600 for premiere.
