Below Core-i3 level. A Jaguar core is an improved Bobcat core, which is a netbook level CPU. Go figure.

For the first time in recent memory, a next-generation console is below the level of a current mainstream gaming PC.

Yes, I just did some online search about the specs, it seems that the GPU will be around a 7790..... OK, quite low end. But since it will only run at 1080p, maybe its enough?

But its going to have 8 jaguar cores. I am quite surprised. More cores instead....

Hopefully those cores are put to good use. Being x86 it should be easier for the developers. I keep hearing about how damn difficult it was to program for the Cell in the PS3...

I agreed. Since x86 programming is far more common. So optimisations, bugs etc.... are more known.

Well, I guess gaming consoles are also evolving. Its not longer like a console of the old days when you insert a cartridge or CD/DVD to play games.

Lol..... Why? Actually I prefer digital anytime of the day. Don't need to go buy games, just get everything online and DL....

Its so much easier. I have not bought any boxed games for a long time.... Everything just download (mostly STEAM and Origin online).

I still remember I download Crysis 3 in 1/2hr on my PC..... Much faster than buying the physical copy.
