Newbie Budget DIY PC (help)

Hello hwz currently I'm using a 2 years old MSI Apache Pro laptop and I finally feel like these's a need for me to get a new PC. All I know is custom build PC is much cheaper than prebuild pc by branded companies. However I'm still a noobie.

I'm thinking of going over to SIMLIM to take a look but before that I need some recommended gears from you guys, please help me out

Budget: 1k - 1k3

Can run most online games like pubg, dota 100-120fps

Can run on an ultrawide (21:9) monitor.

Hmm. I feel your requirements and your budget don't match...

3440x1440 21:9 at 100-120 hz will probably require at least a GTX 1080 or Vega 64, no? That gpu alone is already 2/3 of your budget. hmm.

you seem to be severely underestimating the requirements of pubg. a 1050ti/1060 would do for the dota req but pubg needs like 1080/ti to get that

Besides strong GPU that others have mentioned, also need a strong CPU. e.g. i5-8600K OC, since the game can take advantage of 6 cores now. Both are important to deliver smooth 120fps on ultrawide for PUBG.

Please stop recommending i5 8600k for gaming.

I5 8400 provides the same performance for much cheaper price.

I7 8700 non k provides superior multi threaded performance and same gaming performance for about 20-30 dollars more after taking into consideration cooler price when compared with i5 8600k.

FOr your budget, you did not state whether monitor is included or not

Even for a 1 - 1.3k budget, you can build a decent rig
The online games you mentioned are also NOT that demanding
Minimum I5 with at lease a 950
else i would rather bump up to a 1060

PUBG is demanding coz it is unoptimised BUT if you lower down the graphics to low, as competitie gamers usually do, the requirements are also reduced...

Lastly. ultrawide monitors are affordable nowadays

$200 - $300 gets you a 25"
$300 - $400 gets you a 29"

Not all games support 21:9 FOV though so do beware.

eg: COD WW2 beta does not support FOV slider but it claims the full release version will.
