Newbie need help on missing hdd

Hi,

yesterday my comp was working fine, but today when I start, theres some wierd sound coming frm my cpu, computer took longer to load than usual...

when i go in desktop, realise my E drive is missing, restart a few times also no use...

I think my E drive gg already... was wondering if i shld jus buy a hdd frm sls and replace or build a new 1.

my pc is around 5 years old already.. so abit outdated i tink

usually use my pc for gaming and watching movies...

hoping to keep my budget below $1k~

Since you got budget, it's time to upgrade. Old comp may give you other problems as well.

if its only your hdd that is causing the issue, then change the hdd lo. i mean you can still use the hdd when u change your pc.
let me know if you need 500gb/1tb 3.5" hdd, i have a few BNIP

Check if it is the cable or the port on the motherboard that is gg instead.

The last time i encounter similar issue, i found out is actually my sata cable gg.

Try connecting to a different SATA power cable from PSU, one that is free from other drives or devices, ssd shld be fine as power consumption is low. If issue persists, try connecting to a different SATA data cable to mobo. If issue persists, perhaps HDD is dying.

If you can managed to boot it up, backup all items into another drive.

Which brand & model of harddisk do u have?
