Peak Design's bags are very good in terms of build quality, that much I'm certain. Whether it is comfortable is different from person to person. My friend has a backpack he is quite satisfied with, but I personally felt it was too eye-catching and fiddly (gimmicky) for day to day use.

I personally use a Lowepro Fastpack Video 250 AW for my backpack (when I go on holidays) and a Think Tank Photo Retrospective 7 for day to day use (because I is lazy and don't want anything more troublesome than velcro).

Ultimately it comes down to what you are looking for. If you have DSLR equipment and telephoto lenses you may need a larger bag with more substantial padding and comfortable strap(s). If you have mirrorless than the aforementioned points may not matter as much. There are also the various bag choices - sling, shoulder, backpack and roller. The intended purpose is important and I personally feel you should go for one that maximises comfort. Last but not least, do consider your budget. I was tempted to buy Peak Design's bags but for the price of one of their bags I could buy two or more from other brands. I didn't feel the cost was justified so I went for Lowepro and Think Tank bags.

You'll need a few bags, so don't need to worry too much.

Check the padding of the bags, the way it's designed, does it let you draw the camera with the lens mounted quick, access your filters/batteries/SD Cards easily, and what else can it store with it.

Over time you'll have at least a sling, 2 bag packs and more.

I have a holster (ThinkTank), a sling messenger bag(Tenba Messenger DNA) and a (non-camera)bag pack then dump everything in.
