Hi, I really dont know much about building computers and what brands or components are compatible with each other.

I would really aprriciate if any experts could tell me what are the parts i need for a pure gaming rig and where i could get them!

No need for monitor keyboard or mouse!

Budget 1.5k

The recomended specs for the game (FF-XIV) i want to play is provided below , but i would prefer my computer to have slightly higher specs to ensure it will run smoothly.

Windows® 7 64 bit
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5
Memory: 4GB
Available space on hard disk/SSD: 20GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA® Geforce® GTX 660 or higher, AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 or higher
Screen Resolution: 1920x1080
Internet: Persistent broadband internet connection required
Sound Card: DirectSound® compatible sound card (DirectX® 9.0c or higher)
DirectX®: DirectX® 9.0c or higher

Lastly, thank you all for your help! :s13:

MSI b85m - g43 + i5-4570 ~ $382
Gskills ripjaws kit 8gb ~ $95
1tb western digital blue ~ $81
Plextor m5s 128gb ~ $139
Palit gtx 760 jetstream + seasonic m12ii 620w ~ $459 (PC themes)
Windows 7 home premium 64bit ~$115
Samsung odd ~$22
Sharkoon t28 ~ $84

Total $1377 @ tradepac. You want cheaper can drop further to ivy setup. Not much performance difference. And can get a gigabyte gtx 760 variant. Drop the PSU to 520w

Asrock b75-dgs + i5-3470 ~$292
Gigabyte gtx 760 ~$400
Seasonic m12ii 520w ~$98

Total for ivy build would be $1326 everything at tradepac.

More than enough for all FF fans :)

Also a little future proofing.

Gtx760 is becoming a mainstream card for gaming. So is highly recommendable.

And for your budget of 1.5 is generous.

Err one of the cheapest, but this shop only good for hooting the stuffs and assemble urself. Their installation is crap to begin with and they tend to steal the remaining items. E.g. Screws and stuffs.

Maybe you can try to knock it down to $1280.

For buy and zao, AKA DIY, one way to avoid that situation is to know how the box look like. Take note of whether you are getting rev 1 or 2. Know how to spot the difference.

For assembly, you must know what parts are in each box. Even if cant rmb, at least remember the important/needed parts.

Just buy and own self diy. Shouldn't be that difficult. Experience it and you will love your PC more.

Good luck in your hoot. Hopefully we can meet each other in ff. Lol

Quite a standard leh. When mmorpg is concern with too many people in one particular map. FPS sure take a dip. Unless using a powerful card.
