I'm OK with the thickness and all but the USB ports :o

2nd august was their China sales date, hopefully somehow SG gets distro..

Sent from OnePlus A0001 using GAGT
Dunno leh.. would prefer to look at the actual thing before committing.. somehow it just doesn't look very sleek on the youtube video. And only 1xUSB port is really a bit of a turn off for me.

I have the ASUS UX305, while a nice machine only if there is no problem. Less than 3 months, keyboard not working (1 key), now using external key when necessary. Their service and policy just sucks :s22::(. To me, they could not care less about customer... Did not repair my machine till now because I cannot leave my machine with them for the roughly 5 days period for changing the defective part.
Good luck,

Sorry but what was your expectation? Because i would have thought that all brands would require you to leave your laptop (same for mobile phones too) with them without loan unit as well?

That sucks.. looks like this notebook can strike off my list..

not even confirmed, u already strike off?

single language license. thus need to buy if u need English. If not upgrade to win10 pro. :s13:

seems like true. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...-windows/0cd7ad07-13e7-4501-a1d9-389e5b653154

unless this http://superuser.com/questions/6669...lay-language-onto-windows-8-1-single-language

prob due to fact it can only be single-language, remove default and install new.

I didn't find a way to change the display language. It always says unable to change at the language settings. No options to download packs or such. Maybe there is a way but you can always buy the Windows 10 Home which is extra cost

The Xiaomi laptop looks attractive but the Chinese language Windows is an issue.

Not sure whether it works, but maybe a reinstall of the English language Windows on the laptop may work.

Probably have to first get the Windows 10 product key from the laptop by using Produkey. Then use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a Windows 10 English boot media. Reinstall English O/S on laptop and activate with the earlier product key. May work.

But as with all experiments, best to do full backup first in case something goes wrong.

To be on the safe side yes :)

Technically. One can skip as well when CD key is requested as Windows now automatically recognizes it by it's hardware ID when first activated (to ensure, be sure to activate windows 10 on the Mi book first) - so subsequent reinstall will not need any CD key.

Thay have a very strange policy, at least the repair center at city side. They do not allow or help you to remove the harddisk or SSD while you send in for repair. This means in these 5 days, anything can happen to your data.

Generally most consumers just send in their laptops with their HDD(s) - being a new service ctr (under a new vendor) they may not be well versed with such procedures.

A friend of mine sent in hers as well - and her windows 10 got formatted back to Windows 8 / 8.1 :s22:

Using the ProdKey shows the key is only for Windows 10 Chinese version. Used the media creation tool to get a Windows 10 English language, the key is not applicable.
