Fang Weijie, a former TV artist of MediaCorp, pleaded guilty in the National Court today (19th) for multiple sexual assaults on girls under the age of 16, instructing the girl to beg her mother not to sue him, and harassing her in various ways, including making 18 phone calls to her in one day.
In order to protect the girl, the judge originally ordered that his identity should not be disclosed, but the prosecution applied to disclose the defendant's identity. The judge approved this application this morning. Fang Weijie's identity was made public for the first time since he was charged in January this year.

The victim girl in the case is still under protection, and the media is not allowed to disclose her name.
Fang Weijie, 35, is originally from China and is currently a local permanent resident. He came to the National Court alone this morning wearing a black mask. After the judge opened the court, he stood in the prisoner's dock without taking off the mask. Especially when the judge announced that the media could expose his identity, he looked up and down from time to time, looking a little uneasy.
Going to the hotel and hospital with the girl
The defendant faces a total of eight charges, six of which allege that he had sex with the 15-year-old girl in the hotel, hospital and his home on five days between June 6 and 20, 2024.
He also faces a charge of obstructing justice, alleging that he contacted the girl in August 2024 and instructed her to cry in front of her mother and beg her not to go to jail and beg her mother not to sue him.
In addition, he was also accused of harassing the girl several times between September 22 and 27, 2024, including making 18 phone calls to her on September 22, sending her messages via WhatsApp, and logging into her virtual room on Kugou on September 26 and 27, thus violating the Prevention of Harassment Act.

The prosecution charged him with three of the charges, and the other five were left to the judge to consider when sentencing.
