Hi currently i have only the second hand not very gd A7ii 28mm F2 for my daily walk about lens, at times i do need that extra reach to take photos of roosters around my neighbourhood or the reach of a zoom. I do not mind walking nearer to my subjects but at times i walk near them it will be gone. I do like to take landscapes and food as well.

Initially i planned to get the Sony Zeiss 16-35mm F4 but recently i discover i do need that extra reach thus i am also thinking about the Sony 70-200mm F4 OOS. Both lens are almost 3 yrs old and not cheap.

I am in a dilemma and i am able to only afford just one lens for now as i am just a amateur hobbyist.

16-35 mm compare with your current 28mm like not much different. Felt 16-35mm is wide start + more zoom lens.

IF you wanna zoom i guess 70-200mm should the lens.

Based on your descriptions, I would go for the 70-200mm.

i had the 24-70mm ZA and sold it off for the new 24-105mm G for that extra reach. if it's within your budget, you could just get the 70-200mm f4.

You mentioned you like doing landscape and food photography, now you also want that extra reach to take some wild life shots. I think 24-105 should be a better choice for doing such a wide range of photography as compare to the 70-200.
