Hi All,

Thinking of replacing my current switches as I'm starting my renovation soon.

Any recommendations for nice looking and good quality switches I could look at? Also a place to purchase please.

I saw Jung switches and they look quite nice but I reckon it would be costly.

TIA.

Cheers

At the same place you saw those Jung switches, eg Sungei Road / Kelatan Lane area, there are many shops selling MK, and other brands.

Recently bought this RF switch to try. You can also use it as normal switch. Nice and sleek with backlight.

Sent from HUAWEI BLA-L29 using GAGT

I tend to go for something simple... the fancy ones run the risk of spoiling... and then you need to replace it.
I also like the soft touch type... my personal preference..

now still using manual switch?
ok google turn on living room lights

I would not suggest this as WiFi/internet down means you lost control. Another problem is if you happen to change router, you have to setup all over again.

Most important, these devices use power even you are not using it

1. The physical switch will still work without internet/wifi, just can't control remotely.
2. It is not necessary to setup everything again, unless you change the SSID & password.
3. Wifi switch (although it uses more power than other home automation protocol), is about $2/month (18c/kWh) of standby power consumption for 10 wifi switches.

Sure, what if you control these via remote location? Go home to turn it off?
Another issue is once these switch go defective. You are unlikely to get back same model/type.

Yes, you are right.

Without Internet, it would work as a traditional switch - would have to physically toggle the switch to turn it on or off.

And like any other products, there are bound to be new visual design refresh to give it a new look and features.

Thanks for the recommendations all.

Been doing a bit of desktop research the past week.

However, I was advised given that my current place was already using Legrand, it made $ sense to go back to that brand so I can just change the faceplate.

u always have the option of not enabling the remote function and use as traditional
but if u ever need the convenience its there
nothing last forever traditional will also spoil
