At this rate we are going...confirm and chop will be news in the papers le...

NSP is having open house today to recruit volunteers and party members...perhapss can go there to query them or wait for them to finish their open house before they can answer anything de?

Nicole Seah (佘雪玲)
We will be having our first open house today (Tuesday, 17 May). There are two sessions: 3-5pm and 7.30-9.30pm. It is at our party HQ, 379 Jalan Besar #02-01A (right across Lavender Food Square and Eminent Plaza, along the row of shophouses). If you're keen to volunteer or be part of NSP, do come by!

that may not necessarily be a bad thing, especially for nsp/nicole/jeannette, as more awareness may be created to help them to defray the costs and expenses incurred.

of course, that possibility is premised upon the assumption that ppl are provided with safisfactory clarification as to the issues surrounding the appeals.

I am thinking they may have tried to spend as much as they can to gain publicity, thinking they can reclaim it later (like right now).

looking at all the negativity, I think its a little irresponsible people claim its NSP's own problem when they are fighting to give Singaporeans a chance to vote and have a say. no doubt they should have tried to raise funds before the campaign starts and spend that amount instead of going laissez-faire, but making opposition candidates bear the costs of defeat because of the uneven playing field will probably not do much towards getting more people to join them.

nevertheless, I think they should consider selling merchandise to raise funds indirectly and to budget their spendings in the future. from what I see of NSP contested areas, they have printed a lot more posters than what other opposition parties have done. let this be a lesson for them but not leave them in the lurch.

selling merchandise is ok, but to talk about fighting for the people i agree we need alternative voices in the parliament and using the country's funds in the right way..........

but to join politics, you should already have set aside some funds or asked for it beforehand/during campaigning period.

first of all, we dont know if they would do a good job if they are elected MPs, secondly the money they get as MPs would also not benefit any of us directly.

fighting for a cause needs money and i think NSP's candidates arent that poor.

and never spend money that is not yet earned. all in all, i dont agree to donate to them at all for overspending. just like how YOG cannot be justified.

Its is different between appealing for funds for their political party see sdp website etc and comming up with a appeal and say we have $35 000 of expenses help us.

leading to many question where is the electoral deposits , where is the party fund , what happen to the budget? why u need to appeal yourselfs? are you in debt . So many ? no answer. Regular opposition donator will ask the fund i donate to you go where?

no matter what the notion of spend must then think of paying later is never right. Its like those debt ridden country spending more and digging a bigger hole

if they had asked for money like the alex tan, i would have donated to them, and if they had lost i would not have said a single thing because i was the one who willingly donated lor.

but now they got back deposits so they trying to recoup extra expenses ? to me that's not justified and it shows that they have no backbone.

I must agree the failure to budget (or even lack thereof) is one sticky point here. let this be a lesson to them and if they fail to correct this oversight, I agree they will not deserve the support. my 2 cents and peace :)

5 person bear 35,000 plus they should have supporters......... i dont think this is a big debt. i wont help them at all.

i would rather spend the money to help the poor and needy who would once again, be neglected by our leaders after the elections
