My dad had a major stroke which rendered him immobile on the left side of his body. He was so weak, he wasn't able to swallow food, lift his head up, sit up, do things that we take for granted, but his mind was active. Very frustrating as he had to re-learn how to eat, move his arms and legs, etc. It took him a year before he was able to eat without food entering his lungs, sit up independently and speak clearly. The second year saw him moving his left arm and leg, and standing up with some help. It was a lot of hard work for both him and the family.
CST has had 2 strokes and he reminds me of my dad. Those who say Nicole is fake, kneeling as if CST is an emperor and other bullcrap, you are blinded by indifference. You say things without realising the implications, all this simply for your self centred agenda, and I sincerely hope you open your eyes to the world around you.
If you disagree with me, then maybe you should experience a loved one being struck down by stroke. When your loved one is frustrated and upset and wants to talk to you, do remember not to hold his/her hand for assurance, do not sit close and have your head lower than his/hers to hear his/her barely audible voice, do not look at him/her and smile to cheer him/her up, as it is your belief that such actions constitute as being fake and you don't wayang in front of others. Instead, you'd speak loudly to him/her standing up. No need to smile since your loved one is unable to lift his/her head to the direction of your voice.
When your loved one's leg is in an awkward position or needs to put on shoes to go out, remember not to kneel down to adjust his/her leg or help with the shoes as you'd be seen as bowing to an emperor. Simply bark instructions for him/her to follow. If he/she is unable to do it, that's his/her problem not yours, as nothing is worse than being seen kneeling to a loved one least you'd be accused of staging an emperor-subject scenario for all to see.
If you have loved ones who are old, sick, are invalids, you'd realise these small actions mean a lot to them. Now we all know politicians would try to milk as much out of the press, wayang as you say. But how many other politicians you know are able to do it so naturally? I can safely say none. Why? Because they have never had any experience handling the elderly, the sick, the physically weak - all textbook smart but no heart. It is obvious Nicole has experience, and she knows such actions comfort them. So isn't it good that we have an aspiring politician who actually knows how to comfort the sick rather than have ministers thinking of off loading old folks to JB because it's cheaper?
