I took 1am to 2am flight before. Meal served once plane reached the required height so after that can rest/sleep for the rest of the flight time till reach early morning.

Is it Zipair flight?
if Zipair, when you order you can choose after take-off or few hours before landing.

My sq 1+am flight to Nagoya a few months back, food was served before landing. I checked the photo timing.

Not 100% sure but the flights before midnight, I think food is served after take-off once cruising.

Might diff between airlines.

SQ will be serving breakfast... probably 2-3 hours before landing...

According to my SQ friend... they say this is to ensure passengers have adequate rest... crews also lighter load for the first few hours while most of the passengers are sleeping... if they serve too early crews will be busy throughout the whole flight...

Oh.. last time I took 12.45am SQ to BNE, meal was served after 1 to 2 hr after departed. After the meal, my family slept all the way till arrived but I was awake drinking red wine , eating nuts, etc..

For my trip last November could only book before landing for my family. I'm left with only choice of water takeoff. :(

My flight to Sydney two years back, I seem to recall they served the meals after take off too. Now I wonder if it's route dependent for sq.

iirc SQ serve breakfast about 2 hours before landing

1 hour in to the flight they serve refreshments

you can just as and when call for them and ask if they have snacks or something to munch on. i also the type that can't really sleep on flights. SQ can prep you with koka cup noodles lol

Just back from JP. They served breakfast.
Thanks for the info. I guess I'm getting breakfast for my flight too.

Most likely. They will serve a small pack of nuts/crackers and a drink after take off.
I went to Osaka too. Can try Hanadako takopochi and Toyo Izakaya (their uni and unagi are cheap and very good, but their otoro is not as good as the ones I tried at Tsukiji and some sushi places though).

This is my very first trip to Osaka. Is Okonomiyaki a must-try?

If you have enough meal slots/calories to spare, can try :ROFLMAO: Anyway it's a local specialty, so I guess must try at least once. I had a Hiroshima variant at Hiroshima and quite like it. But now I get full easily so didn't try the Osaka variant this time  too many food to eat ...

Another local specialty is doteyaki and kushikatsu ... can try also.

I gained 2kg post trip :(

Two of the more famous shops are
Namba Okonomiyaki Ajinoya Honten
Okonomiyaki Mizuno

I ate at Houzenji Sanpei, which I quite like as can diy the ingredients. Not sure if the others have this option.
