I want to get the Japan Switch physical copy of Dynasty Warriors 8. However, I'm direct to Dynasty Warriors 7, as show below. I was wondering whether Japan name this game as 7 whereas the rest of the world name as 8. Can someone advise?

Yes...muso in jp is one less number than the west...
Due the original Sangokumusō being the PS1 dynasty warriors which is a 1vs1 one fighting game.
when it's time to PS2, koei reinvented the game into the muso genre of 1vsManyMany and titled it Shin Sangokumusō. However US just went lazy and slap it as Dynasty warriors 2 for the western release.
so English version of warriors will always have +1 number to it's japanese release counterpart.
