Not so concern getting the game early or not ... more concern over the game itself. Bit odd that most AAA Nintendo games been getting rave reviews these days. Well, Zelda BOTW was truly good.

Huh why concern over the game itself? Lol u over thinking too much? I pretty sure mario fans will like it but u do not like mario then no matter what game review u also won't play.

I am interested to know the difficulty level of the game. From all the demos and videos, it looks kinda 'easy', by Mario platforming standard.

I do belong to the camp who doesn't like Mario though. I like 3D platforming, especially open world exploration type, but one mechanic I really dislike in platforming games is jumping on top of enemy to kill it. Don't know why, just don't enjoy such combat (maybe cos enemies change direction all the time, when you jump up you have no control in the air, easily resulting in cheap deaths yourself when enemy moves unexpectedly). Just let me shoot at them, melee them, or even suck them in and shoot them out, just not jumping on their heads. (And banging own head on ceiling to make it drop things, just doesn't make sense :s13:)

oh for me i don't really like Mario 64. (Yes!)

never completed that game. i understand the game was a breakthrough during its time. but I like those Gameboy Mario games (Mario 1 and Mario 2). but doubt i can complete those games at this age :s13:

oh that is for sure. without the Nintendo brand or franchise, the game won't have score this well.

but again those franchises are placed in a special place, which can be a double edged sword as well. coz it will often be compared to previous titles.

If the game got day 1 patch, I'd assume you can't play physical before release date?

That must be some epic level patch my friend. Typically the game is done ie playable with no major game breaking bugs by the time they send the master copy for mass production.

Even if there is a patch to correct some issue for launch day, the game on physical mediums are playable. I have not seen any game from a physical medium that is not playable due to a date limitation except for online based games.
