I'm thinking the same as you, I don't want to let them benefit and by buying will only encourage such prices. That's why until today I haven't bought my switch.

But there are people who want to play it badly and perhaps this is the only choice and to suck up the price?

I'm open to getting it overseas (see if got opportunity), probability of a defective set should be quite low.

unless you really damn suay, I don't see why cannot buy overseas?

Local Maxsoft warranty == lousy like crap. Joy-cons only 3 months.
For the main body, I don't see it failing anytime unless you are burning it intensively.
If it's defective for a start, you will already know and can get it exchanged.

Local set for $6xx is really too high. Why should consumers be suckers and suck it up just so retailers can earn more?

Amazon is also retailing them at US$300. That's SGD$410. World market playing at this price, why SG must be so much higher?
Cos SG consumers are just suckers who will just suck it up. We should fight for our consumer rights, and stop feeding the retail leechers...

Many bought local bundle with 2 games on launch day for $509 before CC rebate. Factoring CC rebate and cashback..its like 4xx only.

Haha, for me, this thinking apply not only to the Switch. I've bought quite a lot of cameras/accessories/electronics online and so far I have not had any issues. The savings are really a lot (may be in the hundreds for some items).

Hi guys, I’ve been thinking of getting a Nintendo Switch for some time and looks like this period with the 11/11 coming and black Friday it is a good time to shop for one.

Any idea if I get thru Amazon app would it be shipped from US or Singapore amazon prime store?

Amazon PrimeNow is ship from Singapore
Amazon apps is ship from US.

Please take note US doesn't have sale for 11.11.
11.11 (aka single day) was originated from China. If you want to buy from US wait till Black Friday which should be on 24th November this year.
However, I actually doubt Switch will get discount during Black Friday. Some more you might not be able to secure a Switch then, as it is going to be a highly contested item.

I believe supply in the US is stabilising. However, buying from Amazon US means there's no direct shipping to SG. You will have to go thru a forwarder and will also incur GST. It is still cheaper than buying local though.
The other option will be to buy an export set locally. The price is similar to what you will incur buying from Amazon.

how come local switch console so overpriced in Singapore but game prices seem to be quite a good value? eg mario odyssey US MSRP equivalent to 81 sgd, but in SG can find mario odyseey at below 70 sgd

Is all about to each his own I think local gaming industry is ok not really overpriced I got mine at $600 neo switch botw kart 8 free 3 amiibo free screen protector and a pouch + $30 shop credit

Singapore is not really overpriced as there are some really expensive retailer in Brunei 文莱 rate is 1Sgd to 1 Brunei same rate

I don't think it has stabilised that well yet? SMO Bundle and Neon set are out of stock in Amazon. Come Black Friday, you might not even be able to secure Gray set.
It can be difficult to get popular item/good deals during Black Friday.
I still remember 3 years ago trying to get Vita memory card from US.
Managed to get one from Gamestop only for them to cancel my order later.
If want to buy export set just do it locally.

To be honest IMO getting Qoo10 bundle with 2 games for $590 is probably still the better option. 1 game costs around $70, so 2 is $140. Export set $440. So it's more like $10 difference. As lousy as Maxsoft is, $10 for warranty is not a bad deal.

I think this price is reasonable if I can choose the 2 games and not they set as SF2 / arms which I’m not keen.. I’m looking for Zelda and Mario Kart / odessey

Will continue to scout and appreciate if you guys have any kangtao links thanks!

I remembered they used to have bundle with BotW and Kart.
Currently has Odyssey only bundle at $629. If can use $100 off it becomes $529.
Maybe wait and see first which game is in bundle on 11 Nov?
When I bought the bundle was BotW and 1-2 Switch ...
