To use Amiibo, you either have the real thing or you make your own.

To make your own, you either need blank Ntag215 or an Ntag215 emulator (Amiibo emulator).

To write the Amiibo to either blank Ntag215 or emulator, you need either an Android phone with NFC support or use an NFC reader/writer hooked up to a PC via USB.

The blank tag method uses TagMo on Android. Emulator uses its own software provided by the manufacturer.

Regarding charging the switch, any power bank that can output 5v/2A can charge the switch while playing Zelda.

But take note that USB cables matter. Some cables can charge up while playing , some cables can't.

When switch sleeping, even USB ports from PC can charge up. Just slow.

i bought a type a to type c cable from challenger today for $5 after member's disc... doesnt charge the switch when i connect it to my 5v/2a powerbank

must we look out for any specifications when buying a cable?

My understanding is type-c has different speed and different current types. Speed is for data transfer, which is not an issue for switch since not doing any data transfer. For it to be charged u will need a cable capable of supporting a minimum of 2A + a powerbank rated minimum 5V/2A.

Using my cheap cable gotten from Miniso, 3A, together with xiaomi first gen 10k powerbank managed to increase the battery by 20% while playing botw in ard 45mins.

Bro, can advise where to buy blank Ntag215 in Singapore? Thank you.

i wonder can switch accept 12 volts?

Yes. Switch can support 5V/9V/12V/15V but 9V/12V/15V is via USB PD. Your powerbank/charger must support USB PD to use any voltage greater than 5V. QuickCharge is not compatible with USB PD.

I don't think you can get it in Singapore.

You meant the Mi Power Bank Pro? IIRC, that supports Quick Charge, which the Switch doesn't support. When the controller on the pb detects a non QC device, it will fallback to say 5V/2A or 1.5A. It shouldn't handshake at higher voltage in this case; if it does, it's out of spec and should actually be a cause for concern.

Most cases I've seen of the pb powering and charging at the same time is because when powering the Switch, the power draw is low enough that there is spare W to charge the console. This rate of charging will vary depending on game, screen brightness, wireless, even type of power bank (and its controller that's doing the handshake) and USB cable. Hence there are different reports from users: some say their power banks can power+charge, some say can only power, some say cannot even sustain power, etc.

if can take in 12v means my xiaomi can charge much faster liao

just make sure the cable is thick enough, specs with 3A will be gd. (Branded) quality 2A cables should be gd enough.

miniso 3A cables works well as posted by hookwai

I just gotten the rubber grip i like them better compare to the clear hard type,
reason the rubber silicone got the bulging bottom part which makes holding on to it more comfy and the same time will elevate the console when i lay flat on table
