So I have been testing the Xiaomi 20000mAh gen 2 powerbank with the switch. And it seems like it cannot charge the switch efficiently when playing Zelda. So I drained the Switch's battery to 75% and plugged in the xiaomi powerbank, after an hour of playing Zelda, the battery still reads 75%. So although it is not the optimal solution it can still provide enough power to keep it going.

I have already verified that the powerbank is an authentic xiaomi product. I have also tested with a few different cables. I even bought a cable from Apple to test. All yield the same result.

I have a volt/amp meter which I checked with and the switch is only drawing about 7W of power from the powerbank. IIRC i read somewhere that it needs at least 8W to charge and play at the same time.

I'm not really that disappointed given that I got it super cheap with the shopee deal. :s22:

I'll probably be hunting for another powerbank, if anyone found one that can charge the switch to 100% while playing zelda do let me know. Thanks.

The behavior is correct. As the Switch doesn't support Quick Charge, the power bank will fall back to BC v1.2 charging spec (5V @ 1.5A).

it will work just a matter of will it charge the switch when you are playing with airplane mode off and full brightness and volume.

Cos turn airplane mode on, with 75% brightness and using headset LOZ: BOTW drained the switch much slower.

But if you are talking about putting to sleep mode and charge surely no issue

Not too concerned about slower charge. Just not sure if the voltage etc will kill my switch LOLx.

Sorry... I really nerd in this. Means can work ah? LOLX. The charger came with my Miix720 Lenovo tablet/laptop de. :o

As long as you're able to provide 18W and higher to the Switch, it can charge faster than it can use power.

12V@2A (24W) is what the Switch will likely pull from your charger if it is USB PD and you have an appropriate cable.

First item is correct. It's just the amiibo emulator device. You use your android phone with thee app to sync.

Second item is the full set as you've noticed. Only required if you don't have an android device with nfc and you use your pc to sync.

Supposedly the official app on pc hasn't really been updated much so the preferred method is the 3rd party app on android.

I've tried both android app and N2 nfc reader, android app really cannot make it always cannot detect and the interface really sucks compare to pc / osx app, the NFC reader is so much more stable and ease to use.
Just buy the set with NFC reader to save all the hassles.
Just an advice you should buy from seller with more positive feedback on the product

has anyone tried sending their jpn/us switch to maxsoft to fix the joycon connection issue?
since nintendo has publicly said that a large number of joycons were made with the wrong board, does this mean tt maxsoft will fix it for us ?

also about the dock scratching thing, nintendo also said tt the dock is supposed to come with some rubber on the inside to prevent scratching but again, alot of docks was manufactured without the rubber.

I do not think local distributor will help to fix those export set which are not covered under their wty as they are not earning from them....
