Just an update on this. Someone else has confirmed that he has the same issue.

I've done further testing and realized that the issue pretty much extends to USB peripherals in general. My Pro Controller when hooked up to the dock's USB port will charge if the Switch is docked normally, but not when the extension cable is used.

You mean u charge the Pro controller with the extension cable?

Nope...

If I hook it up like this, the Pro Controller doesn't charge:
Switch -> Extension Cable -> Dock -> official USB A to C cable -> Pro Controller

It does if I hook it up like this:
Switch -> Dock -> official USB A to C cable -> Pro Controller

Can you try and see if you have the same issue?

Yup. I'm referring to items shipped by Amazon, that item included. Still, thanks for pointing that out.

I cant find 1 that is sold and shipped by Amazon themselves. Only can find 1 that is sold by cablecreation and fulfilled by Amazon. If i am not wrong, this does not qualify for the free shipping even if u spend 125.

Just tried this 1 min ago. Works fine. Red light showing up on my Pro Controller. Switched is "docked" via extension cable and Pro controller is charging via USB port. Probably something wrong with ur extension cable?

Yup if yours works fine then sounds like something is wrong with mine. I dropped Cablecreation an email a few days ago but no reply. Will probably just dock it normally in the meantime.

By the way, which cable are you using? Mine is the 3.3 foot/1 metre one.

I am sure Maxsoft can backup your saved game to the next replacement unit? If can't then siao liao.... seriously i dont see why saved game cannot be backup to SD..

Why Nintendo design the switch like this?
Don't make sense...

I doubt Maxsoft can retain your save file, they're =/= Nintendo

Nintendo is well known for making this kind of boneheaded decision.
Like their previous account system that can't transfer purchased digital games.

read somewhere this is to counter piracy where it doesn't allow you to have access to your save files, look what happened when save files were written on the game cart? we have powersaves where people were happily editting their pokemon save file, as good as "cheating"

true it becomes an inconvenience for us especially when we switch hardware.

I just gotten a new set and have this GAP too I believe is the design that no clip in place at that spot

Typical scenario of once u see it, u can't unsee it...better not check mine and enjoy using it instead...~~"

gotta just continue monitoring and see how it goes.

So I can confirm that even the Orzly Tempered Glass will suffer from separating issues due to heat from being docked.

I guess I'll have to go back to film based screen protector and maybe changing the dock.

Guess its just Orzly and some brand. I am playing 90% docked without such issue.

Age restriction? Could it be RE7?
