Hey experts newbie here need desperate help!~ :( I have encountered an issue installing my windows 7 after getting my new pc. So what happened was I brought my windows 7 os from reddit and i format a flash drive as a boot drive (I tried both FAT32 and NTFS format) to install my os, it got into the welcome screen as well as the "Install now" screen. I proceeded on and what I got is a "Load Driver" pop out which said that a required CD/DVD device driver is missing as well as saying no device drivers were found. I went on to browse the drivers and it on does show me my Boot (X:) drive without my HDD and my SSD but it does show on my Bios. At this point I am clueless on what to go on next, my pc specs is the following:

CPU/MoBo: Intel Core i5-6400 + MSI B150 GAMING M3
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 2400 MHz CL15 (4 GB x 2)
GPU: Sapphire R9 390 8 GB Tri-X
SSD: Crucial Bx200 240 GB SATA 3 SSD 2.5”
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB
PSU: Cooler Master Semi Modular V750S Gold
CASE: Fractal Design Core 2500

go find this program call asus ez installer, it will create the iso for you into the thumb drive, than you will be able to install windows 7.

The issue here is windows 7 is using USB 2.0 but skylake does not have the initial USB 2.0 Driver until windows is installed. thus you will not be able to install using thumbdrive or cd-rom that are created normally. with the asus ez installer, it add in the USB 2.0 driver into the setup files, making the bios detect it and thus you will be able to install the windows 7.
its something along this line, i also encounter the same issue, if you are using windows 8/10, there would be no such issue

Seems like MSI also has their own tools, call Win7 Smart Tool

Alright!! I will go and test it with the Win7 Smart Tool first then followed by the asus ez installer if the problem is still unsolved, I will get back and keep the forum updated on the issue. Thanks your help is appreciated.

Windows 7 is from 2008. It won't have built in drivers for a 2015 system. Using windows 10 usb install won't have any problems

Using a DVD would be easy option

Alternatively slipstream the latest drivers into windows 7 installer using nlite

blamed it on the usb driver in win 7 cannot be used on a skylake mobo.

either u need to put the new usb win 7 driver for skylake or use a dvd.

Some boards, like my MSI Z170A has an option in BiOs that you can enable to allow Win7 installation. When I didn't do this, the mouse and keyboard would be undetected after the Win7 installation launches

I have the same problem. Your bootable thumbdrive/cd rom cannot plug to usb 3.0 port to install.
