Actually makes abit of sense, implementation is key. Maybe up the ante to 4rm must have 1 kid 5rm must have 2 or more kids and applicable to new and resale. Prices will drop and everyone will be happier.
If dont apply to resale then resale prices will skyrocket and new hdb will be under subbed.

Already thought of way to overcome this. That saying it might not solve the problem.

Single life is too enticing to few I know. They rather fwb then get committed. Housing issue is not hard to overcome.

Building 2 room hdb and 4 room hdb probably use the same land size time to build.

If whole block is 2 room maybe can add a little more units per level but not a lot like 2 times per level because kitchen per unit is a must and aircon ledge living room and door exit is a must and spacing etc.

If there are 6 million people and only half are sg citizen who own hdb. 3 million foreigners are living somewhere right?

If you remove 3 million foreigners. There are plenty of rooms and hdb can be sold or demolish to rebuild for bto

HDB subsidies pegged to number of kids.
Couples with 0 kids - no or very low subsidy if buy HDB.
As each kid comes out, government to give more layers of subsidies to offset against HDB loan.
Now, the subsidies amount is same, with or without kids. DINKS enjoying best of both worlds

cannot la, must get a HDB first before can hv kid. Should allow couples to buy, but give subsidies only after they give birth.
