Hi guys.

I recently bought a new hard drive because my previous one spoilt. After installing windows 7, I was not able to get an internet connection.

Troubleshooting returned with
Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.

I called singtel and they said that everything was fine on their side. So, I believe that I may have missed out some important steps in setting up my connection, but I don't know what. Please help, thank you.

Go to Device Manager, Network Adapters and open the drop down list and re-install the network driver.

What motherboard are you using?

You have to download lan driver using anther pc or using android to download then transfer driver to windows.

Best regard,
JK

Easiest is to install the mobo drivers from the cd provided with your motherboard. Also check that your ethernet cable is connected to the ethernet port on your motherboard. All motherboard should comes with a build in onvoard ethernet adapter like realtek.

screenshot your device manager. and please specify no internet as in wireless adapter not detected , lan cannot work?
under device manager screenshot the network adapter drop down option. It will list your devices

U have other pc / notebook?
if you do, download mobo network driver, copy to USB and install it.
you can even download it from your mobile.
provided USB driver can detect your moblie from that desktop / notebook.

if you have CD installation mobo drivers, don't bother to do this ... hehee .. :)
