I bought a Samsung Active 3D. I wanted active 3D actually, cos I will be looking at the screen at a very short distance.. Is the Asus really that bad?

The 3d glass is damn heavy , after 10 min will get tired . And watching 3d movie must use 3nd party program . Very troublesome

I found the samsung 3D glasses to be no heavier than my adidas sunglasses (the thick plastic kind), so I am ok with the weight.

I just managed to snag a 2nd hand 3D monitor from a bro in the forums last week =) I must say that I'm very very happy with my new 3D monitor!

I've watched 2 IMAX videos, and avatar in 3D.. I must say that it's really beautiful. I tried watching avatar in 2D, but stopped after 20 seconds, and returned to 3D, because it looked so flat in 2D.

I also tried 5 mins of gears of war in 3D, wow, it's abit dark but it's really nice to play it in 3D as well!

Now I really wonder, why no love for 3D monitors?!? It's the ideal product to have 3D features on! You can sit close to the monitor and watch 3D movies up close, and can do the shoot'em games in 3D.. great stuff!

some people are not suitable for 3D.

for me, if i spent more than 10min watching 3D contents, i will feel abit giddy and nauseous.

I just started playing Ghost Recon Future Soldier on my new 3D monitor, played it in 3D... Whaa.. SHOIK man!

Never knew that gaming in 3D would be so nice.. it really adds more dimension and realism to the playing! It makes it easier to see enemies who are near and far away..

Now I'm even more baffled why there aren't more gamers demanding 3D monitors for their setup. Love it in 3D!

I bought an Alienware 23 inch 3D monitor more than a year ago, and have not used it other than to show off the 3D effects. For one, I tend to get giddy and nauseous when using the Nvidia 3D glasses. In fact, I get nauseous just playing Castle Wolfensein 3D, which is why I don't play any first person perspective games.

Not sure if this is still true, but 3D monitors are limited to only FHD resolutions (at least when I bought my Alienware). Between going for 3D or going for higher resolution, I would rather get a higher resolution first. That is why I have 2560x1440, 2560x1600 and even 4K monitors, while my 3D Alienware monitor is sitting in a corner unused.
