one of the biggest goals is spelt out - to get to the center of the galaxy. but like all sandbox games, most of the time you will have to create your own goals.
yeah. it's crazy that the developer mentioned that chances are 99% of the content they created wont be touched by the player.

it's fine, Hello Games devs have strong math background and have done their calculations. :)

same for Elite Dangerous - same sort of experience in the sense that it will take a very long time for every system to be discovered since it has a close 1:1 translation of our known galaxy.

yup. they started with less than 5 devs and then to 12 devs refused Sony's support.

suddenly i am from no interests to hyped for this game. :s13:

This is what got me hyped. :s12:

It sounds like so much to explore, so many probabilities You can do pretty much anything, everything or... nothing! imho it'll either be an epic game, or an epic fail (consumed by it's own hype). I hope it's the former. Am looking forward to the hours I'll spend in NMS already :o

as far as i can tell, it's only explore planets, name animals / plants / planets etc.... and discover resources / artifacts to upgrade your ship - to aid you in getting to the center of the galaxy. that's about it.

i don't think you can do anything and everything :D alternatively don't expect anything so at least you won't be setting yourself up to much disappointment. :)

haha no? Perhaps we mean different when we say anything and everything. :)

The impression I get from various vids & articles is you can pretty much do anything you want in the game. Aside from what u mentioned, players can choose to loot a planet dry of its resources and kill the lifeforms already there (at the cost of being Wanted of cos), side with factions... or not, craft, trade, learn languages, communicate with other sentient beings (if you find them)... etc. ehh aka do pretty much anything!

Mhmm... yeah true, expect nothing = no disappointment but it's kinda difficult to not expect anything by now =:p

Sigh, the hype train would have died due to the delay.

Not really. I think the PR is doing a pretty good job with generating hype about how that dude is receiving death threats due to the delay. Keeps people talking about it imo.

Odds are high it will be a disappointment although I hope it's successful. Small studios like this without a track record.

eh? no track record? they been doing the Joe Danger series since 2010. then again this game has little to no chance of meeting up with friends as i've said. but if you're a solo-player then you're fine.

I'm quite excited for this game i'm on the edge whether to buy 1st day or wait for more reviews since this game on the expensive side.

There are many planets but really how different can the planets be? After exploring 1000 planets, will I still be excited to explore another one?
