May I ask what's the difference between signing up with you vs signing up online? Thanks.

Looking to go HK / Macau / SZ this year

Anyone think it's worth while to sign up for this and terminate there after?

I think just get a travel SIM (if you only need data+ whatsapp data call). Simple and easy.

@Apex, @CPTMiller, can share how the green Starhub prepaid SIM and which travel SIM are better, cheaper and more convenient than the CMLink?

For CMLink, it's about $10, including 6Gb data overseas. Their billing cycle is standard for everybody from 1st to 30th/31st of a month. If you are traveling say on the 15th for 4 weeks, you'll literally get a total of 12Gb roaming data across 2 billing cycles.

I found this probably the best and most convenient deal around.

Would love to see other better options but researching on the Starhub green prepaid suggested otherwise. Not sure what other "travel SIMs" are available out there though ...

Another option is Simba $5 (senior plan) or $10 (normal) with 1Gb roaming data within the 30 days cycle. It sounds good but many of my friends plus forum feedback that Simba roaming worked well mainly in Malaysia while in many other places such as Australia, China, Hong Kong, Germany, UK, France, America there were very conflicting experience: some said can work and some said cannot.

In short, reliability of roaming is also an important factor, in my opinion.

Back in 2018, Starhub's prepaid which I used works fine. Was the cheapest according to my research back then, also with it being able to access outside firewall contents. Connection was stable and decently fast enough, dont seem to be throttled unless bad connectivity in certain locations.
Nowadays, with the myraids of choices available, need to research again. lol

Is there really a priority network for certain MNVOs? I heard cheap MNVO has a slower and lousy network, is it true?

I have been using CMlink for 4 months, really cmi. Everytime need to wait for it to spin, it will eventually work n the connection is too slow in sg .... And when i travel to Thailand n Malaysia, I cannot receive OTP for 12 days. Tried switching it off n turn it on, soft reset phone all can't work, it is terrible. I can receive OTP in JB before, so it really depends on their network's mood, but 12 days is really long to accept.

I have another phone using GOMO and have no such issue at all.

We don’t know for sure unless someone goes around with a dual sim phone with both telco sim cards at the same place, same time, same phone and runs a comparison speed test.

Roaming works on my line while in PEK / BBK / KL last year, just had to ensure international roaming is "Activated" on dashboard.

Yes it is activated, seems like it doesn't always work all the time. When I am in Japan, JB, BKK is ok. But this round, hatyai and penang don't work at all. Tried contacting them and nothing resolved for 6 days till i back in sg.
