No sound

Connected my media player to monitor with a Dvi to Dvi connection but there is no sound. After a quick browsing realised that DVI connection is only video. As such can someone offer a solution to obtain volume. My monitor model is HP 2311 and there is no audio input.

Second question is if connection is made from media player dvi out to monitor hdmi input will there be sound?. Wanted to try this option but need to buy the cable.

This huan is monitor leh not TV, wont have sound output one... sound must come from other sources (such as connecting to a speaker)

However if the link above i posted is not your model and it does play sound, a hdmi will provide both audio and hd screening

Otherwise, get hdmi also no use

dvi is only video output. if want both video and sound, is hdmi. but the monitor need to have speakers then have sound...

The solution is to connect audio output from media player to speaker.
