When does the booking of the ryokans/hotels in this area open up for December? Say i would like to book rooms during december, when will websites start to open up the dates ?

From japanican, seems to be about 6 months.
e.g bookable Nov 21st but from nov 24 onwards, the ryokans dont show up.

U can also try calling the hotels/ryokans directly now and see if they can quote u a price.

Some of the direct hotel websites also let u book further out than 6 months.

Highly recommend to stay at Takinoya! Had great experience when i stayed in 2013.

For Ryokan type normally their windows of booking not so long one. Now Takinoya can only book until Oct. therefore, for booking of Dec, it will likely open in 1st July.
