Hi, I built a rig 1 month ago with the corsair cx 500w now it seems like it is making some noise like electrical or something not sure. For awhile have the noise awhile dont have. I can't turn on the computer sometimes also unless I try several times with using different power plugs. Is my power supply or whatever is going to explode with this noise thingy? It is still safe to turn on the computer?

1) Got spare PSU? Also, what do you mean by 'cannot turn on' ?

2) This electrical noise, does it sound like a buzzing noise or something?

Check all your internal PC connections to make sure there are no stray or frayed wires/loose connections causing shorts.

Highly possible your electrical wire connection got some problem or not fitted properly. You try to wiggle all connector and turn on the pc.

That buzzing noise should be coil whine. Coil whine is mostly irritating but harmless.

However, I do have concerns about your PSU as you did mention that occasionally, you spam the power button but the rig can't switch on. Reseat all PSU connections in the rig. If problem persists, bring rig to PC Care & Solutions, #02-32, SLS, and ask Nigel to lend you a spare PSU for testing as well as to test your CX 500.

Can also bring down the CX 500 to Convergent Systems and have them test for you if you want to.

just add some weight to it to change the natural frequency. Coil while cannot be removed completely
