Yes mine local set. There's a clear soft casing inside

Just got my 6.1 local set, sadly no case included...seem only 7 plus comes with one...
and only blue is available..

The display, color and contast is not desirable. Sigh.

That's sad. :(

Hopefully it isn't too bad compared to my current phone, the Xperia Z5. :o

Think you might be disappointed as Z5 has some colour boost by default...Nokia seem to go the neutral color way...

Is it that bad??

Agreed with color booster option.
Hopefully got OS update for this. Since Pixel OS has it

Yeah I agree on the color boost, photos on my Z5 usually looks more vibrant than other phones viewing the same photo. Did a side-by-side comparison with my Z5 and my friend's iPhone 7, the color of the photo is more punchier on Z5 than the iPhone 7.

Hopefully HMD will add in a color profile setting for the 7 plus through an update in the future, not too long I hope. :o

yea the EIS doesnt really help much. On 4K video the shaky movements are even more apparent

Also 60fps setting wont work on 4K or 1080p, in open camera, if you pick 60FPS the app will actually auto-force the video resolution to a max of 720p

in auto mode I find the camera tends to stick to one of 4 shutter speeds:
1/14
1/20
1/25
1/33

this is probably why some reviews say that in low light the phone feels like it underexposes. Some other phones that have OIS, their auto mode can still go up to like 1/9 or 1/10 second shutter

overall i would say it feels like upper midrange in terms of camera performance. I have a feeling that its image processing could still be improved cos in low light the 1.4 micron pixels and f/1.75 aperture still can capture light, but you will see like grainy artifacts and stuff.

Even in say an indoor environment objects that are darker in colour will seem to have more grain and noise compared to lighter coloured objects, even if they are side by side under the same lighting

Overall i think important to keep expectations in check, this is not a flagship and even among nokia's current flagship batch, the cameras weren't that great. They probably still need a few more generations to refine and catch up to current flagships.

Pros of Nokia 7 Plus:
- SD660 (vs SD636)
- Guaranteed 2 years of main OS Upgrade + 3 years security patch (part of Android One)
- Much larger battery
- Comes with Quick Charger in the box (18W vs 10W)
- Build quality
- Already testing on Android P beta

Pros of ASUS Zenfone 5 (2018):
- Cheaper
- Larger screen (6.3 inch vs 6.0 inch; but notch design)
- Maybe camera?

I will wait for mi A2 than.

the eis with open camera seems pretty good
