Hi all, building new gaming rig, will try to reuse monitor, mouse, speakers and keyboard but might also purchase new sets

Please help to recommend rig specs and parts (no need to oc, edit videos, just for good quality gaming).

An Unlocked i5 4670K with a quality Z87 mobo costs the same or more than an i7 4770 with a B85/H87 mobo. For gaming, it doesn't make a difference.

Might as well get a locked 4570 with a B85/H87 mobo and channel the savings towards a GTX770 or higher. GPU makes the biggest difference once you are past the i5 range

i7 has hyperthreading and i5 doesn't. In layman speak, it means your hardware tricks your software into utilising double the number of threads your CPU has.

No real world difference in performance if you don't use apps like Photoshop and Lightroom, since games made today all designed at most to use 4 cores. Channel the $100+ savings to a better GPU if you really want to see that performance in gaming.

My recommendations for just gaming. Save some money on the i7 and get the i5. Then tambah everything to a better GPU. Probably install some games in SSD. So would tambah a little bit more for a 256gb SSD.

i7 gives u +10-20fps if you game on 64p servers BF3-BF4 or if you wish to take crysis 3 as a gauge for multicore/HT optimized games when it comes to ported games from PS4/XBone. If you game on 60hz 1080p, it makes no difference as 760/770 can max out(@60hz) 95% of the current games.

64p servers put a heavy load on CPU calculations (player movements/targeting). With i7, your minimum fps wont get a huge dip when theres a huge firefight. This is the only instance where a better GPU will not help.
