Noob on Apple TV

I have been using laptop to watch videos rented from iTunes but the playback is always laggy (with mis-sync of voice), even though I predownloaded the movie in SD format instead of HD. Hence I am thinking whether an Apple TV would help resolve this problem. Does it mean I can start watching lag-free HD movies on my 47" Sony tv?

Note that I have 2 android phones, 2 laptops (one with iTunes installed), an iPad 2 and an iPad mini. Just wondering how these devices could bring about a better experience with the Apple TV.

Can Apple TV work directly with my Bluetooth creative roar speakers.

To get an Apple TV, is it better to buy first hand or used one? Is the difference in savings great to risk reliability?

How about any monthly cost to pay for subscription? Hulu and Netflix got English, Chinese and Korean movies and dramas? Need any VPN or whatsoever configuration through my wireless router?

Lastly how good is the streaming? Does Apple TV support 5GHz frequency bandwidth?

apple tv is for airplay mac,ipad,iphone to tv.

what u need is a device for hdmi cable to sony tv = lag free.

mis sync audio/video pls check laptop maybe fix your codec

Yes, u can rent or buy Movies on iTunes via Apple TV.

Not sure about the bandwidth of cable broadband is sufficient for HD video streaming.

not sure y it lags on yr laptop (i'm assuming windows?) iTunes sometimes under perform in windows, not sure y.

AppleTV connects via HDMI to yr tv. so e sound will be output to whatever sound system yr TV is connected to. AppleTV does have an optical out also so if u have speakers that support optical in u can hook it up i believe.

if i were u, i would buy refurb from e Apple Store. if it doesn't work for u, u can still return it. my current AppleTV was bought from a shop cos at that time Apple didn't sell on e SG online store yet.

been connected to my 5ghz wifi for a long time. works ok. for rented movies, what i do is to let it buffer for awhile at e start. watches fine after that. Apple should have improved on their content delivery systems in e last 1 or 2 years so yr experience shut b better now. i also use mine for AirPlay streaming via e AirVideo app. it works great.

or you can try downloading Airfoil to overcome the video and audio sync problem. I to am using macbook pro airplay to my tv via apple tv with no sync issues. Both connected to a 5ghz network.
