Currently i am using a
i7-870 with a Asus board,
intel 120 SDD + 500gb hdd,
gtx560 Ti,
8mb ram..

Last year or so change to the GTX560ti.
Currently when i play MMO it still feels abit laggy and cannot really play in better than average settings in 1920 x 1080.

(Dual monitor all the time thou, one for play one for watching shows or on browser)

Questions.
Is it possible to make a new rig and jus put in my old SDD and expect it to work? Else i need buy windows again.

Voice of Love answered ler..NO. :(

If NO,

IF i wanna make a new rig and use Nivida cards
(What's the difference between those numbers 670,770,680....very confusing)

With a budget of 1000-1500 and i need help to build what can i get for the most value for money?

Will need a new OS and everything else except i will recycle the SDD.
And also future proving a few years at least , Possible?

THanks in Advance.

Ur ram is ddr2 or ddr3 ?

Win 7 can reuse...call them, tell them ur mobo up lorry and u replaced it they will give u new set of key..

I5-4570 + Msi b85m g43 ~ $356
Ram reuse
Ssd reuse
Hdd reuse
Gigabyte 280x ~ $425
Superflower hx 600 ~ $109
Sharkoon t28 ~ $85

Total ~ $975 buy and DIY @ tradepac ask for discount...

280x (similar to gtx770 performance) is the best bang of cards now...if need to replace ram cost about $100 for 8gb ram, casing up to u if u wan other case, corsair 350d, CM storm scout 2 etc, if u wan nvidia gfx then leadtek gtx770 will fit ur budget @ $500+ (brand up to individual)

Latest gfx for nvidia starts with 7 , example gtx760, 770, 780, 780ti

I thought can reuse 500gb hdd also o.o

Might want to give the old Rig away just in case, its working just not as intended.

D3 was okay, FFXIV (borderless window mode - high not even max) it got stressed tested even not in 1920.

Actually I think you just need a upgrade of gfx card. I am using i7 860 OC to 3.8ghz with GTX680. No problem running even BF4 at ultra at 1080P minus Anti-Aliasing.

Wow.
This is a piece of good news.
Will go dig my mobo specs and other details later at night.

But if i dual screen (usage type below) all the time a Gtx680 or R280 can cope?

Main Screen : ffxiv (usually)
Secondary Screen : 2 window of youtube / browsing.

This one I can't help you liao. I only have one monitor :p

But just to let you know I have no issue running the latest games at max. I use downsampling instead of AA.

Finally after so long decided on getting a new one before CNY. And use my old rig to replace my 6 yr old lappy at work.

So i might need some inputs from the GUrus here.

OS = Win7 or Win 8 (Any big difference)
CPU = i5-4670
Mobo= need some recommendations on 85 vs 87 boards
Ram = RipJaw X 1600 cl9 8gb x 2
GPU = Palit gtx680 4gb (saw somewhere this is pretty cheap) or other recommendations?
PSU= ?
Casing = Fractal Midi R2
CPU cooler = ?
Casing fan =? ( do i need since i want to remove the hdd bay and mount SSD on the side)

Any BLuRay Drive Player.
SSD have a 520 from BF

Trying to get everything inside 1500 but exceed abit if i get more value can considered breaking budget abit.
