Not mounting the GPU

I am using a thinkcentre m72e sff casing
Currently i have a 1050ti low profile thaf fits because it is half width card

I was thinking of buying a 1070 mini itx and using a pcie riser and just let it sit in the empty space. There is no mounting area or anything for full width card

Will it cause any problem? Will the card vibrate itself to death or something?

May have problem booting up

Hold the card upright when booting and release after POST

Why it works I have no idea, but it has been like that since GTX 560 / Phenom 2 until now GTX 1060 and Skylake
